Narratively is a media company that celebrates the diversity of humanity through authentic storytelling. Their network consists of over 3,000 talented storytellers who have found passion within writing. The platform has granted the ability to shed light on the underdogs and overlooked tales that enlighten us, connect us, and capture our imagination.
Filtering through their extensive collection of stories, I wanted to pair my practice of photography with publication and layout design. I first began by seeking an overall theme, which was dysphoria, and chose six pieces. Based on the content of the stories, I created a shot list and mood for my proposed photos – Soft lighting and a sense of mystery to offset the text. I then later paired the layout of the copy to mimic the composition of the photos.
